Hello Buz
You are probably pursuing the right fix here, but is worth checking the windscreen seal. I wasted a few hours once convinced it was the NS vent but a split seal below the tax disc was the route in, two weeks later a cracked windscreen forced an overall fix. I needed to source the seal independently to the windscreen fitter to get a result. A power wash test proved all was then ok. ...just a thought. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

Thanks Skip, I think you could well be right. The screen rubber is split and perished, not sure how to get this replaced at the moment. Never messed with replacing windows.

OK, getting there slowly.
Water still coming in, i ran water on the passenger door corner where it meets the bulkhead, up to just above the top door hinge. Water is coming in somewhere and showing inside around the area of the door stay. I've put sealer around the top door hinge as thought it was there but doesn't seem to be. Whats on the inner side of the wing that could be causing this leak? Any other suggestions? |

Looking the previous pictures posted and the diagram above, if fitting the rubber seals, these fit on the bulkhead in the recess for the vent and you have seals on the flaps themselves? 1999 Defender TD5 110

The old ones were stuck to the flaps, so I just replaced them. They don't leak anymore, i fabricated some brackets and they are pulled tight shut, 2 fixing points per flap, they won't leak as they won't open anymore.
This water seems to be coming in by the door pillar kind of area |
