Went off to my workshop to change the filter on my auto box. Had the parts for ages and just seen this video on youtube which gave me the nudge to do it.

&list=UUgoIeWV_UcrvqdXAiz3s8Vg

The problem was they didnt say anything about shearing the sump drain bolt with an odd ball thread different to everything you have in your shed ! Evil or Very Mad
A kind friend took me to a mates yard to rob one from a scrap unit. We returned only to find that the thread in the sump was damaged. As we couldnt find a tap that suited, it was back to the mates yard to remove the sump as well. Annoyingly this was rusty on the outside, unlike mine which was shiny clean. Never mind into the parts washer it went and onto the vehicle. Oil added and no leaks... Bow down

I didnt even get the chance to re align my steering wheel !!

If anyone can confirm the thread size of the drain plug it would be appreciated Thumbs Up

Found some steel box section I had left over from a project and decided to make some seat rails to see if it actually makes any difference.

First impressions? Seems more comfy, though not sold on the idea, not done a long enough journey yet.

Also flushed my radiator and changed coolant as my temp problem seems to have crept back in Banging Head

bpman- There in the post on there way to me!

One thing it did bring home to me was how badly I need to change my seat cushions. So much yellow fluff!

Did a quick tidying up of the front grille today. Will likely get this one replaced but did a quick spray to at least get the grey away for now.

When removing it, some of the plastic screw backings started to rotate in place and had to be held in place while unscrewing- took some creative maneuvering to get those out. Will want to change out all the mounting hardware when this gets replaced. Lots of 26 year old brittle plastic! Looks like I'll need to move the land rover badge up a notch back to the original placement Whistle

What it looked like before:

And from yesterday- enjoying the view during a quick drive around town Very Happy

Swapped the start line of the Yorkshire 3 peaks race to the finish line using the roof rack as a platform

Looks great. Can you show how and what brackets have been used to mount your foxwing? Struggling to get mine mounted without taking to get some custom mounts made.

Alex, try some 1/4 x 2" mild steel plate. Two 9mm holes at 100 or 110mm centres (check back of Foxwing) and some 8mm hex headed bolts. Just sandwich the roof rack side rail between the Foxwing back plate and the 1/4" plate.

OK if you want to get more sophisticated get some flat bar the same thickness as the side rail to use as large washers.

Or get thicker plate and mill a grove the size of the side rail into it with the 9mm holes drilled in.

Well yesterday decided to change the clutch. Took it out found oil in the bell housing and a wobbly gear shaft! Looks like ashcroft will get some business.

Hannibal. Wanted to fit without using the side rails. Will investigate further.
