Server room monitoring
For those who work in IT and have an involvement in server room setups, what do you use to monitor the environment?
Such as Temp, humidity, power etc? we have UPS's that have management cards which are fine for the UPS side of things but not much good for room monitoring.
Looking for features such as Email alerts, live readings etc. 1999 Defender TD5 110

If you struggle to get anywhere with server room monitoring, I have a friend that put a system in a couple of years ago that I can quiz.

It's not exactly the same but we build temperature & humidity monitoring systems using Mitsubishi Alpha controllers which can do text messaging on a regular basis or when certain parameters are breached.
They're used in grain stores primarily.

Lots of things round our farm are connected up to an "alarm" Alpha that I've put together. If our power goes out, various things stop working, any of the cold rooms go over temperature, power comes back on whilst we're running on the generator etc. etc. it will text me, ring bells and flash lights. Set so that important things (power, water) will wake me up, less important things will wait until the morning. We use them all over the place, remote control and monitoring of pumps is really useful.

You could use a BMS - Building Management System to do it. I have to say this is something I am involved in selling so am wary of going too far on the forum, however, if you want a bit more info. send me a PM and I can give you a few pointers.

Cheers
Mark

Thanks peoples.
We already have some BMS systems in place already (BEMS?) this is run by another dept, which might be an option.
If you want to send more info Mark then please do. 1999 Defender TD5 110
