it does make the filter bottom closer to the axle rod trailing arm , so worth checking if you got clearance if loaded heavy or off roading

Ah thank you, now that's changed my plans a bit time to get the measuring tape out, we get a better discount at the ford dealer than lr would ever do. was hoping to source as many bits from them or psa / fiat for the engine as the wiring ect for our ducato is very similar.
As for off roading it`s been in the dealers for the last two weeks I get it back tomorrow ![]() ![]() You seem to know your stuff are you in the trade I`ve seen your mot posts. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires. |

Before fitting the new filter lie directly the filter housing and look up at it when the old filter has been removed. This will let you see where the lugs in the new one line up, then once the new one is in place just twist until it locks in place. The Stanadyne filter has pictorial instructions printed on it. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

If I recall correctly the original is designed to click into place and has an indicator for you to listen for the click. 2.2 90 XS

That's why I`am putting a tranny one on they have a picture of a padlock on them to indicate its fully home as they can be a bit tight some times
It might be a tranny thing some are a bit hard to get at let alone know if it`s gone on all the way, Already had one fall off on a ldv, not fitted by me I was on road test after it had been repaired. Long walk back for a new one as I drove over it ![]() |

td5 has metal head and threaded on so pliers aren't really a problem to them , puma is plastic head and twist-loc

no reason why you can't use pliers on a puma , just don't tighten like a maniac , just a gentle twist till it stops

Almost, but not 100% correct. The Transit 2000 - 2006, 5 Micron filter [Part number 4537951] is identical to the Defender filter and is a straight swap. Its only the 2006 onwards, 2 Micron filter that is 30mm longer bodied and therefore won't allow the refitting of the cover HTH ![]() |
