Wiper fault
Hi folks
I know this topic as been posted before but does anybody know if the wiper motor park switch is available separately and if so the part no, or do I have to buy a wiper motor, my vehicle is a 2002 td5 on which the wipers won't park and I have confirmed that the fault is at the wiper motor

Cheers Kevin

You can buy them separately (not sure on part number though) only buy genuine as cheaper ones don't last.

Examples of prices (no affiliation) 520160 - Switch Park Wiper Motor

Definitely avoid the blue boxes, I replaced the one on our Tdi and had to repair it before I fitted it!

Thanks for the replies
I had got to that white block on the wiper motor but after much tugging and pulling couldn't get it to move and didn't want to keep trying and damage a otherwise functional wiper motor now I can attack it with more confidence

Cheers kevin

They take a bit of wiggling to get off, the spring clip locates in a slot and all will become clear once you've got it off Thumbs Up

The photo above actually is really good for showing how the switch is retained.

The two small pegs you can just make out in the photo locate the switch, and the spring clip holds the switch in place (and the pegs in their holes). To remove, pull the switch very slightly away from the motor to free the pegs, then slide it sideways to release the clip.

The first time I changed one it took me longer to get the damn thing off the motor than it did to strip the dash apart to access the motor!
