Thank you chaps I haven't felt this way about a Land Rover since I first opened the vents on my Coniston green TD5 hard top on a summer's day. These Defenders all get under the skin but, once in a while, you find one you know is going to be very special indeed.
Sailing Tom, your Keswick green soft top has most owners dribbling and contemplating the sale of a kidney/spouse/favoured pet Seriously, I sold a 90 to get this one and your posts made me question my sanity SGH, D130HCP played a BIG part in my decision to go for the daddy of all Defenders. GUM, I saw your feature in LROI |

Absolute stonker
Suddenly my 110 seems too small... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Thanks folks
After a 90 and a 110, there was only one place to go. Then I realised I couldn't afford a G-Wagen so I settled on the 130 |

Finally, some progress!
Bilt Hamber UC and S50 was first on the list, then I installed my 30mm spacers (which do look a little odd from some angles, given the relatively narrow 7.50 tyres). I then bought three bulk packs of Dynamat Xtreme from Mr Hughes (SGH on the forum) and went crazy on the interior. Click image to enlarge Aside from one sheet and some small off cuts, I used all three bulk packs to do almost everything beneath the window line. All four doors, the floors, front and rear seat boxes and both bulkheads were covered with the stuff. I didn't line all of the logos up , but I think I did a pretty neat job. I must have spent three whole weekends on it. The doors shut with a reassuring thud and the cabin is noticeably quieter. Click image to enlarge I then took the 130 wild camping in Wales. I spent most of my time relaxing on the shores of Claerwen Reservoir, but I also did some green-laning. First 130 up the Strata Florida? Almost certainly not, though with a tow bar she wouldn't get through the bomb hole... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I drove to Salisbury yesterday morning to pick up the drl bumper (Flatdog/FCX) which Steve (bpman) was selling and wired the lights up yesterday. They work brilliantly, though the temptation is to use the drls (and not the side-lights) all the time, which means no dash illumination. As the bumper is chunky 5mm steel, I also fitted a First Four recovery shackle (Cheers pj2106!). The Noldens were added following Brendan's fantastic special offer, and the grille is off to make way for a pair of Lazer ST-4s in the Zunsport grille. Click image to enlarge Also whirring away in the background is a set of new wheels, but they're still a month or two off. I'm loving the 130. Even in the office car park!
