Forgive me, father, for I have skinned.. (my knuckles, actually) Well, the old bus never goes offroad, my wife can't get into it easily, (since I removed the rusty steps) and we tow two tons of nag and French horse trailer which has a very low drawbar with a very heavy noseweight (130Kgs empty!). With the normal suspension, the front of the 90 is up and the back is down, and that's with a 2 inch drop plate.. So.... It's either buy another Disco 3 which pulled it dead level (since sold), or fit HD springs to the back.. To keep SWMBO happy, it's a lowering... Ectually, I think 90's look rather good lowered.. 'Course, if anyone wants a 90 and cash for a Disco 3.. Make the most of this life, you may not have skis or a Landy in the next.

That still means the towball would be higher than the hitch (don't want to put a longer drop plate on and I don't like using one at all..) and IMHO it increases the already considerable noseweight.., and SWMBO would still have trouble getting in.. I don't think lowering is THAT radical, it can always be changed back and I can change all the springs fairly quickly, done it one and a half times already..
Is it possible to put photos in posts? Make the most of this life, you may not have skis or a Landy in the next. |

I already have an adjustable towbar and a 2" drop plate, but it's still not low enough.. The trailer is towing level, but the Landy is down at the back and up at the front, due to the excessive nose weight.. I believe the trailers twin axles are too far back.. I measured a Dixon Bate adjustable a while ago and it was about the same height off the ground as mine.. Not willing to pay £287 for four lowering springs (inc. vat and £25 carriage) when Paddocks can sell standard springs for £13.46 each.. And the wife still wouldn't be able to get in. P'raps getting a taller wife would solve that.., one with long legs.. Make the most of this life, you may not have skis or a Landy in the next.
