Bonnet insulator
Is there an insulator panel you can add to the inside of the bonnet to help make the engine quieter. If so where can I get it?

I think Noise killer do a pre cut one on their website. Not tried it personally but I've heard it's good providing it stays dry. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

Cheers Josh. Now I've insulated and carpeted the back of the truck, the noise from under the bonnet seems to be more apparent. It doesn't bother me, but I thought if there is one out there I might fit it.

I have fitted a Noise Killer Puma bonnet kit but I am not sure its makes a great deal of difference as it only cover the panels in between the strengtheners so there is still a lot of the bonnet that is not covered.
I am thinking if investing in their lead engine blanket which i am told is good for reducing engine noise.

You are better off to get the underside of the bonnet sound deadened with Skinz or a similar non flammable product. It also makes it much heavier if some scumbag nicks it.

Out of interest, is it normal if you look around the bonnet edge when it is closed, to still be able to see engine hoses, components and the bonnet catch through a huge gap?

The sides of my bonnet are close to the wings but there is a gap at the front of about 10mm

Well I'd say there is a full 1cm gay at the sides of mine, and more like 2 cm at the front!

10mm thick, latex backed felt, glued an cable tied to the underside of my bonnet and yeah, I can check the dipstick thru the gaps around my bonnet Neutral .Keep meaning to buy some seals but not found anythin suitable yet.
You may have to cut a small hole in the felt where the brake m/c reservoir cap is,depending on who fitted your bonnet at the factory, lol.
