That's just a Unimog with a 5th wheel and lots of silly bling.

......yet all you really need is a well prepared Land Rover and some sort of tent - ground, roof or camper trailer or at the most an off-road caravan. Take you pick, depending on how far off the beaten track you want to go.
As for the not getting bogged due to special Kevlar tyres....what about the weight? Is is built of fairy dust?? Actually one of the things that has surprised me about travelling in Oz is that some of the 'grey nomads' seem to have really huge 'rigs' that would struggle on some of their unsealed main roads, nevermind the more out of the way or 4x4 only tracks. I really just don't get it - if you are going to sell up and spend your retirement seeing as much as you can off your big country, why limit yourselves to spending a lifetime on the bitumen and therefore actually only seeing a tiny bit of it? I guess for some it comes down to bang for your bucks and thinking your gonna make everyone else envious when you pull into a caravan pack and deploy you extending sides Each to his own though!
