Type Aproved NAS Step from Landrover and Drop Plate.
My apologies if this has been answered before, and I have tried various site searches but could not find a clear answer.

Landrover sell a type approved E11 NAS step that I am clear about, my question is was it type tested with or without a drop plate. Many makers of tow bars for 4x4 vehicles include the use of a drop plate when type testing.

The VCE regs say that to obtain type approval the tow ball centre must be between 350-420mm from the ground when laden, correct me if I am wrong but I understand the lowest tow ball hight on a NAS step is around 520mm, so the only way it could have obtained approval in the first place is with the use of a drop plate.

I have called Landrover and Style Auto who make the step for Landrover and nobody seems able to answer the question. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW

It's an interesting point but frankly, if Land Rover don't know then I can't see how anybody else can. Might be worth asking through Mike on here. Darren
