It is a 1996 300TDI County Station Wagon with a full scale conversion to a 4-berth camper. We have spent lots of time and effort creating a 4-berth camper with as many features as possible giving lots of storage for its size and enabling it to be used for unsupported trips by a family of four, summer and winter. It is probably the best specified Dormobile I have ever seen.
The camping features are as follows: -
Elevating roof with two roof-mounted bunks, fitted by Dormobile.
Four special folding seats converting to two lower bunks, fitted by Dormobile.
Dormobile supplied wardrobe. This has been “shelved” inside and the lower “seat" compartment converted to give more storage. We find this large enough for clothes for a family of four. On the right-hand side of the Wardrobe, on the outside is the space/shelving for water containers, we fitted a water tank outside so that we use this to stack all four sleeping bags with ease.
Two Dormobile supplied high-level storage units. One used for food/general, the other for towels and toiletries.
Mobile Storage Systems “Stack & Stow” units for storage - Two on the inside of the door, which we use for pots/pans/utensils/crockery. And one floor-mounted drawer unit under the fridge that we use for food storage.
Mobile Storage Systems rear door mounted storage unit. We use this for condiments and other small cooking items.
Waeco Coolfreeze CF40 Compressor Fridge.
Custom made dining table. This stores on the side of the wardrobe, and the fiamma singe leg stores alongside the roof, opposite. There is a floor mounting in the centre footwell for it. The footwell has been stiffened to ensure the table is solid in use.
Rear door mounted cooker/grill with custom cover.
20 litre externally mounted (under offside sill) LPG tank, exclusively for the cooker (lasts for a very long time!).
60 litre stainless steel water tank externally mounted under nearside sill with external filler. The tap is a whale hand-pump mounted inside the vehicle. it can use used with ease from inside or outside.
Eberspacher D2 diesel heater, can be used whilst driving and camping. Draws fuel from the main tank.
240 volt electric hookup, with 16amp connector and RCD feeding two sockets mounted on rear of cubby, plus battery charger. The connected is easily reachable, under the offside rear door.
Split-charge dual battery system (Optima Red Top Starter and Numax 86ah Leisure battery). Whilst on hook-up the Numax is charged with a 7a Ctek charger, all batteries and charger are mounted in the battery box.
Two Internally mounted 12v Fluorescent lamps, individually switched.
Lots of strategically placed stainless hooks/fitting for coats/jackets/oddments.
Custom made Brownchurch Roof rack and rear hoop. This was made to enable the carrying of two open canoes on the roof, and features removable front section, and additional 1600mm wide bars front and rear (not shown in these pics). The front section also features support channels for an large camping table (not included in the sale but they are still available)
2.5m side awning, we also have sides for this.
We also use a Movelite XL Drive-away awning on the rear which mounts to the rear hoop for additonal camping space in cooler weather and this is included in the sale.
A Mantec Security cubby box.
X-Eng 2nd row door extenders, enabling them to be opened wider than standard.
Custom curtains all round.
Hard wire (mini-USB) for satnav in the dash-top ashtray.
The other features of the Dormobile are: -
300TDI with 140K miles, runs beautifully and has been serviced every 6K miles in my ownership, since 96K miles. It had a FSH before then.
Fitted with new Galvanised chassis in 2010, Also done at the same was new clutch, cambelt and fuel tank).
Very solid bulkhead
Allisport full-width intercooler.
GENUINE Blindo Alloys (full set of FIVE) with ¼ worn Cooper ST 265/75 tyres, spare unused.
2” Receiver towing hitch. We have a drop plate, and special extension flange-mounted towball for a bike-carrier to clear the spare wheel. 13-Pin towing electrics mounted on the rear crossmember. Nothing hanging low to get ripped off.
Mammouth matt black chequerplate bonnet and wing covers, for access to roofrack.
CE marked LED Indicator/side/tail lamps.
15” Moto-Lita leather steering wheel.
Steel rock slider type sills.
Recent new windscreen.
Recent new Radiator, brake pads.
Front anti-roll bar recently added.
Heavy duty springs front and heavy duty with inner 130-style helper springs on the rear.
The Land Rover has 5 months tax remaining and will have a full years MOT from the end of this month.
Viewing is welcome, and I can send additional photos to an email address if required. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are a non-smoking family.
We are located 5 miles from the A1 at Newark on Trent.
We will be very sorry to see the Dormobile go as it was meant to be with us forever, but have a very genuine reason for sale. We would like £16500 or very near offer for this fantastic camper. Priced to sell as we have seen something that we would like to buy.
