Springs
Ive got the standard (supposedly) Heavy Duty springs on the 90. Nothing wrong with them and sits fine at the right height.

We planning to put the roof tent on (last on almost a year ago) and im thinking of beafing up the suspension.

I dont really want a lift and i also dont want any crap springs that last all but 5 minutes (like my disco HD ones did and made me regret getting genuine) - like from Britpart - i also do want to spend a fortune.

So what are my options and importantly who would you go to get them (ill probably fit myself or get a mate to fit them)

I am uprating my shocks and springs because of the roll cage and winch. I went the Flatdog standard hight HD springs and terrafirma shocks Thumbs Up 59 2.4 110 XS Utility

Hi

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I think I want the same information ...

I have a 110 CC - one month old ... the front end is lower than the back by half an inch, because I usually don't carry anything in the back of the truck Very Happy ... I've bought the new bumper and I'm going to fit the winch ... so the front end will be even lower ...

I want to chage the front springs, without having to raise the car height ... I just want some harder spings so that I can fit the winch and bumper and the car doesn't have to look like it's riding on old and worn springs ...

Any ideas, what to do, and where to buy ?

There are several ways:

Springs
Spring spacers (bespoke). Gwyn Lewis (do not buy from LLAMA4x4)
Rubber isolators from Disco (part RBC100111)

DO not trust OME`s published specs. When they say aprox 2" lift= anything between 3/4 inch and whatever, but never close to 2".

If you want a 2" lift just put discovery Bearmack HDs on....that's all I've done... well i think is give me about 3" Thumbs Up NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Irmaniac,

Look at your springs and look at the colour coded bands painted on them, look at the chart on my previous link and get the length and rating of your OEM ones....

It should then just be a matter of sourcing from the same chart springs with a higher rating and close to the length of your OEM ones.

well, according to "your" chart and what I just went to see on my truck I have this configuration ...

NRC8044 D110 Front left 15.13 155/215^ 9^ white/white
NRC8045 D110 Front right 14.49 155/215^ 9^ yellow/yellow

Should I go for this configuration below ?... can I do this, without changing the shocks?

NRC9448 D110 HD, D130 Front drivers side 15.31 225 8 blue/red

NRC9449 D110 HD, D130 Front passenger side 14.80 225 8 yellow/white

Or something equivalent but from another make ? If so, what and which ?

For info - i put the winch on with standard springs and the drop was so small you hardly notice it.

The reason for it is add the roof tent and you get possibly 1/2 and inch at most drop, but some of the handling (obviously goes).

SO my aim was to put HD springs to stop the drop and beef up the ride a little.

Ive been bitten however by supposedly good quality springs and companies - hence the question. I need to balance cost aswell, i wont by crap (again Rolling with laughter ) but having bought a new house ive spent too much money this year Big Cry Mike

lrmaniac,

It was not "my" chart but a chart I located on your behalf by spending "my" time trying to help "you" out! I am no expert and you must ultimately decide what is best for your situation...

The springs you have come up with from "the" chart from my perspective seem ideal for your purposes, they are very slightly longer and have a higher rating. If it were me I would go along the same lines, you do not have to change your shocks in this instance. Hope this helps...

I just said it was "your" chart beacause although it's not yours, you had the trouble to post it ... twice ... Thanks Thumbs Up

And I'll look for those ... because as it is now we can clearly see that the front end is lower ... I measured it with a level line along the car and the front is lower close to an inch ,and not half as said ... the winch and bumper weight is almost 110 kg more! Regards

You have a 110 dont you?

Im sure 110's sit higher on the back anyway...well maybe the utility version, ill have to look.

Adding my winch did nothing to the front height, It took the winch, bumper, soft abar and steering guard to drop it all of 1/4inch at most, you cant tell. Mike
