The service manager told Land Rover how fussy (annoyingly pedantic ) I was over servicing and of my other models. Land Rover asked for a run down of models past and present including chassis numbers etc. I was able to supply this information. I was able to supply paper work for the two services not carried out by the maindealer. The first was a brake vacuum pump change carried out locally as I did'nt feel comfortable driving all the way to the dealer with the pump spewing oil into the engine bay, let alone the risk of driving with a dodgy brake vacuum pump. This was carried out only a few months AFTER a service by the maindealer but I opted for a full service including all fluids while getting the vacuum pump changed. This was documented and stamped in my book by a local garage. Most recent was the oil service I carried out myself documented on this site. I thought that a complete oil change might help the situation but it did'nt. It was after this that I came across the bulletin concerning the knocking noise. I had the receipt for the oil used and was able to show that the oil used met the Land Rover specifications. As you can see every little helps. I don't mind things going wrong provided the company steps up to the plate if is due to something amiss in the design or a faulty part. To me that is how to judge a company. Just looking forward to getting ZULU back into the fold again 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I think one of us would have to be well and truly lost! Same county, different sides of it. Still stranger things have happened. Been a while since I was over that direction but it is well worth the trip. You'll be lucky to hit third gear on those minor roads We used to camp out over that area in earlier times. Our on two kids and three borrowed cousins all packed into a 110 200 tdi with a mountain of gear. Great memories.
