Corrosive iirc, it's the white stuff that's the worst I think too.

A good tip (Which many may already know) for dried on bird poop - if you wipe it straight off it can scratch the paint, so take a cloth, doesn't matter what kind, soak in water and they lay over the stain for 5mins.

The cloth holds the water against the paint and stain and softens it a lot more than simply putting water onto the panel from a hose for example. After 5mins it'll wipe straight off.

Bird Poo is a big problem in Aus. The hot weather here can really exacerbate the issue. On a hot day, if you're unlucky enough to get a "dropping" on a hot panel, particularly the roof or bonnet etc which can get hot enough to fry an egg on, and you don't get it off immediately, it will etch the paint,...Not good.
I had a new Focus RS a few years ago, went to see some friends for a couple of hours, came out,...a MASSIVE bird poo strike on the bonnet,....wiped it off with a damp cloth, ...too late,...nicely etched bonnet on a 2 day old car!
Cheers, Pickles.

In North Wales visiting family, so dropped the Defender into Conway Land Rover for its first service. Now wandering round Conway while they do it - many, many Americans in town...

Have just had a video emailed to me with the mechanic underneath the vehicle walking/talking through the what he's found so far, which is a really nice touch - is that a LR thing that all dealers do? Turns out there are a couple of oil leaks under the bonnet - might have to mention that to Stratstone Cheltenham, as that was their handiwork a couple of weeks ago... 2013 Defender 110 XS DCPU
