Hi. Sorry for posting this twice, but it seems appropriate for 2 areas...
Ever since I moved the OBD socket (yes, I was careful to get the wiring right) if I turn the key into start engine position with a Scangauge or remap console etc. plugged in I get a double-beep from the alarm. If I unplug the Scangauge I don't. Otherwise the 110 drives, locks, gives the Scangauge info etc. completely normally. The new OBD cable is about 4 foot long. Any ideas? Cheers Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Treble check the wiring. It didn't do it before you tinkered. Did you disconnect the battery when you did it? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I'm going back to basics - using a new cable with a new socket (better than the last one) and doing it all over again. I'm 99.9% certain the wiring is correct. I've got the circuit diagrams and checked them too.
My only real worry is if I've chafed the ECU-Alarm wire on something at the loom end when I pulled the cable up (I was gentle though). It's weird though. If I leave the 110 unlocked for a while the red light flashes as normal. Then I get in and it goes off. Then when I turn the ignition the red light comes on solidly (angrily) and I get the double beep... before it starts and everything's okay. Only happens with something plugged into the OBD - but since Scangauge and BAS interface work perfectly I don't see how the wiring can be wrong Doesn't happen if I lock and unlock - no light and no beeps. Aahh well, wouldn't be fun without these problems - and it's a good reminder to lock up Cheers Matt Edit - yes, took the OBD fuse out when I did it.
