A bit late as it was yesterday. I used mine as a spanner carrier plus used the winch to replace the tracks on a JCB 360. It was off with all the track pads, off with the old chain then back on with a new chain and bolt all the pads on again, simples
Click image to enlarge 44 links per side and with 4 nuts and bolts for each pad, I woke up in the night tightening the damn things up! |

Wrong County... It's was a trip over the border to Devon! Speak funny down there they do! It's just come back from the dealer - they cleaned it. Well the bits you can see! In the back was a new NAS step bumper - I made at least 3 holes with the current height adjustable - bought a pin and ball coupling for recovery... My Saturday planned! Well, earlier in the week, had a remap courtesy of Matt at FCX and Pete at BAS and while I was over that way-ish got some new tyres from AJS.
The remap has made it much smoother to drive, bags more torque in gear and pulls for longer in each gear. Speed limiter has been upped slightly so that I can cruise nicely with the other vehicles on the continental motorways. Now ready for my trip the Alps, praying for lots of snow. |

Picked up from the garage after having a new camshaft, lifters and timing set. Not sure how much is due to the mildly warm cam and how much is putting back the ponies previously missing due to the wear on the old one, but it has certainly put a spring in the old girl's step . Now busily accumulating miles to get it run in for 500 miles and an oil change on Friday before heading off to the Lakes next weekend Fully Restored 89 110 CSW V8
CLS 350 CDI for the sensible stuff |

Not today, but last wed-friday... Truck was at the dealer for a bunch of stuff, partly covered by the extended warranty.
Had an intermediate 6 month maintenance done with replacement of all liquids, engine oil and filter, gear/transfer boxes oil, and the two diffs oils, plus a good complete greasing. (I replace engine oil and filter every 6 months, even if I drive only abt 3k km over that period, and change the other mentioned oils abt every 10k km). Also had the Landreiziger headlights loom installed, and they put the summer wheels back on. They further found the cause of the transmission clunk, and installed two new halfshafts with all the other wistles and bells that go with that, luckily this was still covered by the extended warranty. Last they repaired a broken wire for the central locking for the rear RH door while being at it. They ordered LR seat covers for the 3rd row seats, those were the only ones still missing, will put those on today. Also will wash the winter wheels, let them dry, treat the tires with a good quality tire gloss, and put them in storage for a good half year, til the leaves have dropped again..... Guess the truck is ready for spring now. Eric Edit: Pictures of last weekend preparing summer wheels/tires for a new half year service.... Steve, cannot post pictures anymore. Have reached my limit, but have sent Martin this morning a PM asking for more space, because I do not want to delete existing pictures as all of them are part of posts....
As to fresh snow, not down here by the lake (450m altitude), but as temps have cooled back down well from the 3 week dry and warm spring spell we just had, my garden rain gauge shows this morning that in the last 24 hours we got 30mm of rain down here. That means a lot of snow as of 800m and higher. And we will get more rain here today and tomorrow. Good for the ski resorts. Awaiting for Martin to extend my gallery space now.
