Have you considered flatdog springs?
Ome springs are excellant i have them on mine currently with koni shocks and superpro bush's a very nice ride 2004 TD5 Defender 90 xs station wagon |

Terrafirma stuff is good value but IMHO the shox are a bit stiff on a 90....Otto has them in Dublin at good price too.
If it was me I would use Land rover Heavy Duty Springs and Koni Shox, put your back springs on the front the buy set heavy duty rears ....will lift it about 1.5 - 2 inches.... Or if you want it for off road use fit Range rover Police Spec springs, not great for towing tho as a bit softer. Nidge. |

Why are you looking at achieving by lifting it?
In my opinion just changing shocks and springs isn't sufficient. If you want to do it properly you should be looking at extended brake hoses, some sort of caster correction, wide angle prop shaft. |

Thats a fair point!!
Also you will find that the rear trailings arms should be changed for cranked ones as the chassis bush becomes stressed (compressed at base of bush) fitting cranked arms will restore the bush to orginal form i would recommend gwyn lewis for these 2004 TD5 Defender 90 xs station wagon |

Yes..but Tristan did say budget was a key factor !!! We'd all love to have the " Proper set-up " ...but that all costs ££££££ And most of us Irish lads are broke N. |

In my opinion upto a 2" lift most can stay original. Check your brake hoses to be sure at full cross-axle.
As long as you don't use extreme long shocks you don't need other U-joints and cranked arms really. If you go for more then it is a good idea. I Have lifted my 90 about 6 cm so a little more as 2". I use the standard U-joints and don't have cranked arms. I have longer brake lines as I needed new brake lines for the MOT, as I had to buy new I bought longer ones. This setup gives me just enough clearance to run 35" 10.5 simex tyres on 0 ET rims. I had to trim the eyebrows a little. My lift is really on a budget as I used home made spacer blocks; Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I did this because I fitted a winch bumper and are currently building a external rollcage and if that all is ready I will have a look at my definitive suspension setup. I put some rear springs at the front off my 90 as with the winch bumper I btm out regulary when I need some speed to get up a hill. Extended brake lines for definite. I've just done mine, and the originals get very tight on full articulation. It wasn't me!

Hi lads, I have qt front arms d44 rear arms superbro bushes and a set of devo-tec springs and brake lines which I had been saving for another build in the shed. This is some way off so going to fit them to my defender for the time being. In light of this im going to treat myself to a set of ome and do it right. Thanks for all the input...
