My rear passenger off-side door chirps as we go over bumps. Things quiten when the rear passenger pulls hard on the door. Any suggestions on putting flight to this flock?

Sounds like the hinges could do with some oil and the door needs to be pulled in by adjusting the stop

Thanks bpman - pulled in door stop, chirping quietens down for a while and then returns. Also dry lubed door striker etc, but only stopped chirping for a short while.

Has the plastic surround come off the door catch?

mk1 collector the plastic is still on all door catchers albeit with grooves, but chirping and non chirping doors have same level or wear in plastic.

Could it be that the door is chafing on the rubber seal? If so, a rubber grease may help.

There is a plastic retainer to hold the metal bar which goes from the door leaver on the inside to the door lock. It is connected with double sided tape to the inner door frame. When it comes loose the bar is rattling against the door frame.

What he says ^^^. Plus carefully remove the door card, pull back the damp seal and check the bolts that hold the inner frame along with every other screw, bolt, clip etc Steve.

Thanks all for your best shots. Unfortunately none of the suggested causes align with the observation that the chirping stops when the rear passenger pulls on the door handle.

When you pull the door handle you pull it away from the metal bar I mentioned.

Thanks Pim- I know the clip as I've had all the door cards off for other reasons. I'll check the clip on this door in the next few days and post what I find.
