Hunger petition
Anyone who agrees could you please kindly sign this petition:
http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/geor...ger-budget
We cannot allow hunger to be an issue in the UK in 2014, it is not acceptable in my view in this day and age in a (what was/is for some a wealthy country)

Thank-you.
Thumbs Up

I agree with the reasons for the petition and have signed it.

There are people that are genuinely short of cash and need the facility of food banks but we have a class of people who run new cars buy the latest electrical gadgets/ computers etc. and then complain that they need to use food banks because they have no money. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Thank-you, I agree with your comments too.
I'm self employed so actually working but because no one has much money in the country the work has dropped off very fast.
It all gets passed on down the chain of who gets paid.

Here is another good one regarding MP's 11% pay rise where most of our wages just stagnate. Whistle

It's more complicated than that.

I have a friend who is a priest who works with the underclass as a prison chaplain.

I am told foodbanks are popular because a lot of the food on offer to those that qualify, is sold on to buy cigarettes etc. It is basically free money so why wouldn't they be well bid.

Obesity seems now the problem of the poorest. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop

Unfortunately there always will be the few that will do that sort of thing. Confused
Obesity IMO is likely due to poor diet through cheap food I.e. High fat and various other rubbish they throw in. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I don't get the impression it's a few alas.

The inmates I've heard of think it's great these (well-intentioned) people are handing out something of value for nothing, that they can sell on.

I'm sure obesity is the result of high fat/sugar diets combined with zero exercise, but ready meals are a more expensive way of eating than cooking something.

It's ignorance of this and how to cook even simple things that's part of the problem. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop

Many many young people can't cook, often IMO due yo parents not having the time o teach them along with schools that have zero interest.
Combined of course with schools lack of financial teaching for later in life which is also critical IMO. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Complete waste of time, you can fill in as many petitions as you like, it'll never make the blind bit of difference Rolling Eyes

Too many freeloaders and dishonset sorts playing the system means the real worthy/needy families would still be left wanting.

Until that is addressed any additional help and funding is futile .... Evil or Very Mad Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
