I think the grabbers are way better than the continental cross contact at. They grip better on road (by miles), are quieter, and somehow seem to remain as competent off road.

No idea about the Contis but I was impressed with the capability of the TRs in the rough stuff, as well. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

I have found the continental cross contact, better than the grabbers both on and off road,,
But they have been fairly new, what they will be like half worn ?? California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

I've been really impressed by the general grabbers. Great on road, decent off it (go offroading alongside some older 90s/110s/discos with usually mud terrains and go everywhere they do (helps that i have TC too though)
they last for rocketship miles on road too. I've done 60k on mine and loads of tread left (maybe just over half worn?) id expect you could get 80-100k miles out of them maybe although time will tell... look good too and quiet Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Everyone has there own opinion; which is good because it makes the world go round. A customer of mine had a 110 XS USW on grabbers (and was happy), the next on conti's, changed to BFG's with in months. Another did the same. Both of those for off road. + I'll guarantee, that on the limit, on road, far more predictable on Generals. In fact the Goodyear Wrangler MTR's are more predictable than Conti's. (Fuel Eco on MTR's not so good though!) |

Have 235/85X16 on my LXV 90 and have to say I am impressed with the grip wet and dry, but..................the noise is dreadful.
Conti is a very good tyre but will not last as well as well as the old General TR's. Have to say the General AT2 will be on very soon. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |
