As long as the size of them is proportionate to the wheels you have, in terms of size, it isn't going to put make much difference. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

If they are huge than you will need to make some serious mods.
Anything above 265/75/16 you really need to start looking at lifts, castor corrections, wide angle yokes, wider body arches, wheel spacers. |

285's will fit without any mods.

Not the size, they are 235 85 R16, same as what I have now. I'm just worried that with the more agresive profile it would mean more strain on the drive train. But I may be overworried, so hence the question.
I have kinda heard it's not a problem, but those are all guys with TD5's or older. I also heard through the grapevines that the drivetrain of the puma is a bit weaker, though I have heard remarks to the oppositie as well. As it's also my daily drive, I'd like to make sure. PS willnot usd them for daily driving, just to go "play". Just bought me a set of Insta Turbos on modulars (see image). Click image to enlarge |

On road they have less grip (and are very noisy!) so in theory is less strain on the drive chain.
Off road however I have hard they are fantastic! |

Those Insas can be dodgy on road, one of the reasons the KM2's and STT's are so popular.
Of course it depends on how you drive though, if you drive so fast you can't shop a Defender isn't the right choice anyway. They tend to lock up when wet and just skid. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

It's a seperate set for playing only. I do 30k+ a year on the road which I certainly wont do on these. These are for offroading only and probably only for between fall and spring anyway. I don't think I'll be doing 1000kms a year on them.
Just worried about the drive train, will it cope? |
