Hi there,
In NZ it is very difficult to get the recommended Castrol Oil for my 2010 Puma (they only sell it in large quantities to mechanics) and it seems that the only option for me is to buy Mobil 1 http://www.mobil1.co.nz/products/product_5W30.aspx#.UwukP_mSyTM The tech specs say it is ACEA A1/B1 & A5/B5 so does that mean it is suitable? Cheers. Hamish |

Does your PUMA have a DPF?
DPF PUMAS require low SAPS oils. You only have one life, live it....forget the cost. 90XS Hardtop |

I don't think it has a DPF - its a 2.4, I thought DPF only came in with the 2.2?
I've done 20,000 KMs on the Mobil1 - I'm a bit worried I may have done some damage! - Its due for an oil change now so better make sure I have it right,... I've just found out that I can get this oil in NZ LEICHTLAUF SPECIAL F | 5W-30 SPECIFICATIONS: API SL, ACEA A1-02 / A5-02 / B1-02 APPROVALS: Ford WSS-M2C 912-A1 WSS-M2C 913-A WSS-M2C 913-B, ILSAC GF-2 AVAILABLE: 1L & 20L |

2.4 then no DPF, so 5w 30 from Mobil will have done no harm at all.
My old 90, 2.4 is still going strong at 85,000 plus the last time i bumped into its new owner! You only have one life, live it....forget the cost. 90XS Hardtop |

Well that's a huge relief !
So that leaves me with a decision to make on the only two options I have available in NZ - Liqui-Moly 5W30 LEICHTLAUF SPECIAL F, with it's FORD approval of WSS-M2C 913-B - But I know nothing about this product. Or the Mobil1 - which seems to have a big reputation, but not exactly meeting the Ford Specifications...but seemingly close enough.... ?? |

I consider myself to be very well versed in Mobil Products . My father has worked for Mobile since 1974 on and off shore , specifically on oil products . I have been driving landrovers for 25 yrs and every single one has been using ONLY Mobil 1 , bought in 50L drums .Remember though - the service intervals in ALL cars is critical and the life saviour of ALL engines . SERVICE REGULARLY . For me its every 4 - 5 thousand miles .
I highly reccomend MOBIL 1 to you . |
