Roger Youngs…. now thats what you call service!
I have posted before on this subject I know, but………praise when praise is due.

I took the 110 in for some warranty work on Friday to Roger Youngs (Noise from the gearbox in 5th and 6th under load).

Superb service again from Darren and his service team, warranty work complete, a courtesy vehicle for the whole period (no charge for either the vehicle, insurance or fuel) which is always nice, only problem being that the long haired Admiral likes the Freelander 2 over the Defender, I liked it also but once back in the trusty 110 the smile came straight back to my face and would only ever change for another 110.

110 returned without the noise issue and valeted to within an inch of its life. (I doubt a 70K Range Rover would come back any better).

I am a bit of a perfectionist and only accept the best, and Roger Young deliver every single time. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up You only have one life, live it....forget the cost.

The noise has gradually got louder and after a 600 mile round trip on the motorway became excessively loud.(only occurred when everything was really warm)

LR state that you will always get a liitle noise but mine had become excessive.

They said the selector in the top of the box had not been fitted incorrectly causing wear and hence the noise once warmed up.
(If you held the gear lever with a couple of fingers it dissappeared).

Roger Youngs have fitted a new selector which has got rid of the noise/vibration and also made the gear change more positive.

Thumbs Up I have to say I am very happy with the outcome. You only have one life, live it....forget the cost.

Roger Youngs are my local main dealer and I have nothing but praise for them, have dealt with them for 20+ years and cant recommended them highly enough. Darren the service manager is brilliant.
