The 3.2 5-cyl as well?

Is the 2.4 going to come with 5 or 6 spd? Are they sticking with 2wd hi or a better permanent 4hi?

Guys on a Mondeo forum are having problems with the DPF. It's problem on some VWs, Mercs etc. Problem is short journeys & the engine not getting warm enough. There is a normal regen & forced regen.

My Mondeo was fine though & you only ever hear of people with problems Wink

Has he read the 500 manual? The light comes on if you stop when its mid-recharge, and it does warn you on the dash, you can either leave it running while it finishes the recharge cycle, or go for a drive to clean it out.

We are all stuck in traffic in the UK for hours every day even on the shortest journey, so no problem here! Rolling with laughter Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...

coated Diesel Particulate Filter (cDPF), removes the little particles which are bad for us Wink

traps them, then periodically overfuels so the excess fuel goes down the exhaust where a glowplug to ignite the fuel which burns off the particles.

And while its doing that, you have to keep driving - hence warning light, if its not been able to complete the cycle recently Thumbs Up

The bits in it also make it quite expensive... Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...

I understand that they had some interesting problems when developing the DPF system, they were measuring temperatures of several hundred degrees in the unit.

Thank goodness no one uses their cars in long grass, otherwise who knows what would happen. Smile

Looked at ordering a new 110DC last week and was told to wait due to new EU5 engine legislation and a regrading for all vehicles to commercial status.

They didn't give a definate timeline for this, however I'll let you know what the outcome is asap.

I've heard it on good grounds (someone who works at JLR and is on these forums) that defender IS going to 2.2
