Ideally get an OE one or a good rated equivalent.

My connection on the solenoid was very loose and occasionally prevented the starter motor from working but couldn't possibly cause Richy's problems.

Sounds like power control relay has an earth issue, tried cleaning the earth inside the seat box? There's a black wire with a ring terminal that bolts to the bottom, this can cause issues. The last one I had this issue on was due to a broken earth wire between the inertia switch and the main relay, cured with an overlay harness Thumbs Up

There's a grommet on the front inside wall of the seatbox.
Originally this had wire running through it to attach an earth wire from the ECU to the engine (bellhouse flange)
This was dropped in later models. It's worth reinstating.

Solved it, the earth or ground was poor to the body. I was getting high resistance between the neg term on the battery to the chassis, and used a jump lead to the seat box to establish a good connection, and it started first time. Thanks for all the advice. I now need to reconnect the earth from the tow connector as it had failed.
