Convoy for Heroes 2014 takes place once again over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, 18th - 21st April 2014. This year we have a new venue at Long Marston Airfield in Warwickshire, and are aiming to beat our own Guinness World Record (tm) set at Gaydon in 2011. We need at least 349 to beat our record, so please visit the website for more information and to download booking forms. Alternatively you can CLICK HERE to be taken straight to the Online Booking page, where you can pay securely via PayPal.
If you want to be allocated a camping pitch beside fellow Defender2 forum members, please put 'Defender2' down as your 'club' on the booking form. Highlights include a talk from Captain Tony Harris (Race2Recovery), who will also be starting the convoy on Sunday, exclusive access to a nearby Pay & Play site on Saturday, a Circus Workshop for the kids (young & not so young!), and of course the attempt to break our own record. Sorry I should have stated above, I'm one of the Directors of C4H and will be there all weekend. I've been involved with C4H from before the 2011 event where we set the record, and the other two directors were so impressed with what was achieved they stepped up when the other two original directors intimated they would be standing down after C4H 2012.
The event is run by a team of volunteers, coordinated by myself and the other two directors, Ian Uwins and Denise Deeley. All bookings are being handled by Ian & Denise through the C4H P.O. Box or via PayPal, I'm looking after the facebook & trying to answer queries on forums (fora?!) such as this. If you wish to book a stand, you can download a form from the website (or CLICK HERE to download the pdf). The event runs over the bank holiday weekend, with arrival on Good Friday and departure on Easter Monday. Last year most trade stands were open Saturday daytime, and for a few hours on Sunday before the convoy took place. The few hours while the convoy assembles mean you have a captive audience, the vehicles are lined up in rows & you can't go too far away! A trade stand is just £50 for an 8x8m pitch inc 1 camping pass and a free C4H 2014 T-shirt. I have just noticed that there isn't an option to add a convoy entry to a trade booking, but if you have vehicles in attendance that you wish to participate in (bearing in mind there won't be much custom while we're all in the convoy) then I'm sure something can be sorted out, convoy entry is £35 per vehicle.
