Quad bike recommendations please?
I'm thinking about a quad bike, made road legal, with a roll cage fitted.

Has anyone experience of quad bikes & can recommend one with an electric start, powerful enough motor to stay safe in traffic, & is reliable? Thanks Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Don't buy anything Chinese, quads can be a handful in wet weather,as there is no diff on them (unless you get a 4x4 jobbie) so gonna slide round corners especially wi knobblies on which is fun for 5 minutes. Some quads are competition spec. and require the appropriate service intervals Yamaha Wr,KTM.Suzuki sell a quad with the excellent and reliable DRZ400 motor, not the competition RMZ450 motor.

Speak to Walfy or GBMud, they're both into their quads, as are (I think) TJ101 and JST.

Stick to good premium brands such as Honda, Yamaha Suzuki and the like. Funny enough I saw a load of them in my village today down a back lane. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

We've got a Yamaha something-or-other... Proper farmer spec Smile

4wd, diff lock, automatic 'box, tow electrics & ball, indicators, road legal etc etc.

Brilliant bit of kit. I guess you just get what you pay for tbh Cheers, David

Like several have said, can am or grizzly. But then if you look at all the quad forums there seems to be a lot of hate for can am in the US. But then when you look at where they put them it's no surprise they break a lot.
Grizzly are now made in the US so quality has dropped off slowly.
If doing mainly off-road a grizzly all the way. Don't touch Chinese quads with a barge pole.
I spent several months looking for the right quad for me and the Mrs. Ended up with 2 Grizzly 700, hopefully before the end of thhis year or or early next I'll get my RoSPA/LaNTRA instructor course done, then I can turn a hobby into a business. Thumbs Up 110 D250 SE HT

Thanks guys. I'd like a 4x4 ideally, but £s will decide. Need to look for a seller around Somerset /Devon. Any recommendations? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own.
