All these cars are a remap and not a chip the word chip is old terminology these days, the chip was when you had to physically swap components but not they are all reprogrammable so no need for soldering or chip changing. Re Porny , his remap is actualy my remap because he is one of my dealers/distributors. Also there may be a new engine again for the Defender in the not to near future, if my info is correct it should be worth waiting for Regards Pete PS Hi Russ |

Not wanting to pry Pete nor do I want nor expect you to reveal your source !
But you got to reveal the findings of your recent revalation ! I conducted some work thro the MOD in the ninetys with special projects at Sollihul and a source who remains with the brand and is quite high up informed me the SVX would benefit from the TDV6 ! Only to tell me that it would not ! This was some time before final details were revealed ! I rang my man earlier and he has heard nothing ! And anticipates quality would drop as the new owners look to cut costs also ford can cut ties with engine production that it's tied into with the new owners! DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN |

Ill have mine chipped out of warranty - especially as lr have now said any chipping will void engine and drive train warranties
Anyway as for the defender engine. There will be a new defender in around 3 years that is likely to have a new engine. The defender will not be the same as this one as it will be redesigned. When i was in the desgin studio a few weeks ago - whilst most be the lrx and svx had been removed, there were some models of the new defender. Mike |

i thought that with remaps they couldnt tell the ecu had been chipped anyway. although i suppose to take it back to stock for a service etc would prove beneficial as well. Cheers

As mentioned they can tell.
I did mention the check to see for remaps - apparently they can - but not in a way you think. The important thing is that they only need a wiff of it and they will end the warranty - i like my warranty more than the speed. Mike |
