I have the basic monthly subscription, but whenever the car is somewhere I feel it is a bit less safe I phone up SkyTag and they put a geofence on for £1 a day. Makes me feel a bit happier leaving it with garages etc. |

I spent ages securing mine inside the Cat with heat-proof resin, I figured nobody would look in there.

Do any of the tracker systems, sky tag, smartrack, snooper etc get recognised by the insurance companies for cheaper insurance?

Not sure about the cheaper insurance but the data can prove very valuable in detecting where you go, when you go and at what sort of speed you normally travel - it's not just criminals it tracks.

Its not the possibility of cheaper insurance I am after. Its the fact that I am increasing the chance of getting it back if it is actually stolen. Therefore avoiding a good butt ing with the inevitable low valuation of what I know is a valuable 12 year old car. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

No I agree that getting it retrieved if it should get stolen is the most important but there are various companies that offer tracker systems so if one works out better financially than another.. Are there thatcham ratings or anything like that for them?

No Thatcham ratings as far as I am aware of, if the insurance were interested it'd be on the basis of professionally fitted only.
Obviously they are very concerned that people will not actually fit one just to get £10 off a month. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

I hid mine in the air filter as nobody ever looks in there
None of the major insurance companies give discounts for trackers passive or live but many insist you fit them, give them details etc and ensure you have it fitted properly and tested . All of our company cars over a certain value have to be passive tracked and the lorries live tracked. |
