there is a circlip round the drive Flange that hold the bolts loosely in place until you done them up , and flat of bolt rests on flange to stop them turning
the drum only sits over the bolts held by big pozi screw so drum off , you may be able to get bolts out without removing drive flange just may have to move circlip back and slide bolts out . |

The four bolts pass through the rear output flange and are retained by a large circlip on the back of the flange. The flange is machined so that provided the correct 3/8 UNF bolts are used they cannot rotate. If they are rotating then either the heads are damaged, or an incorrect size bolt (eg 10mm, 3/8 BSF) has been used (or, if you're unlucky, the flange is damaged).
You'll need to remove the flange to replace the bolts. It can come off attached to the drum, and also gives you a chance to replace the rear oil seal (which is probably lubricating the handbrake - they usually do). You will lose some oil when you take the flange off if the t-box oil level is correct, so be prepared to top it up afterwards. |

Doing this job at the weekend decided to use Aerotight nuts instead of the Nylock nuts
