Tow electrics question
Guys, the grey connector that is attached to the wiring loom of the vehicle has coroded badly over the winter.
I purchased some tow electrics with the male connector but i couldnt get the plugs together due to the excess corrosion..so...i cut the connector out, tisted the wires together, soldered the joints and then heatshrunk the connections exactly the same as if the connector was in place (same wire joins etc)....now my fogs dont work either on the landy or the trailer Thud

Any suggestions why this might be?, ive triple checked everything! You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

Bulbs and earths would be where I would start after fuses. It is always frustrating getting trailer lights going Good luck Thumbs Up 59 2.4 110 XS Utility

Disco,

On Dgardel's second post on this thread you can download a set of diagrams...If they're the same as mine 'Exterior Lighting' section pages 57 and 58 show trailer socket arrangement. Save your money do a little checking....

Is it out of warranty - if mine is corroded when it comes back (i have the socket to connect under my desk) it will go in for work.

The option for them is a new loom - but i did spray WD 40 in there a year ago so hopefully Sheep Mike
