Margaret,
A pitty that the problem appears only few month after the guarantee expires. In my opinion: Check if the problem or a similar one has been informed previously by the former owner. Sometimes that serves a a probe to indicate that the problem was present before the guarantee deadline but were neglected by the dealers or LR See if the problem can be related to some special service message (you can search across this website), that can be also a prove of a pre-existent failure. Have you a contract signed with the independant company? What the conctact said about if the car fails? Can you relate the fail with some of the replacement parts that you had (maybe the EGR)? Just my tought about how to proceed with LR and the independant company Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Go to a dealer and ask for a vehicle history report. This will show all the issues that the vehicle has had and if they have been resolved. If your problem was reported before the warranty expired its still covered. 130's have feeling's as well you know

The garage I brought the car from has agreed to contribute towards the cost. There is no chance Landrover will help though.
The head is coming off as we speak. Margaret |

Maggie,
Well, at least the garage have answering in some way. I hope that the cost will be not be too much. But anyway as AndrewS said, go to a dealer to know the story of the car. On my last car the engine blew up a month out of waranty, the bill for a replacement was £7.5K - Land Rover offered 50% initially but after some persuasion went up to 75% so it's worth pursuing.

Thank you very much for the tip. Still waiting for the garage to get round to my Landie. I need to have it back for the end of May, so am getting a little worried. Going off roading in Gloucestershire for scouts.
