P0100: Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit (my be EGR closed?)
P0234: Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition (mine too)
P068A: ECM/PCM Power Relay De-Energized - Too Early (start key position released too early???)
P0299: Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Underboost Condition (BAS related?????)
P0404: Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit Range/Performance (my be EGR closed?)
P0606: Control Module Processor (????) Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Had a sixth sense you'd be along to help Dgardel. Thumbs Up

On my second link Robo, Big Steve had exactly the same codes after a tune! Think Pete from BAS helped find a possible resolution.

Are you getting the orange light on the dash Question If not dont worry. The Defender flashes up warnings when things are 'within the parameters' but 'higher or lower than expected' The thing is if its within the parameters why doesn't it shut up Evil or Very Mad 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile

Id love to help if i can.

We need if possibile to see a car in standard form that is clear of fault codes so we have a good base to start from but i think its going to be hard as all ive seen i think have some fault or other stored Confused

AndrewS, do you still have means to read fault codes on your brand new 130 since yours is and always has been standard i beleive ?

Pete

Thanks AndrewS

To confirm these cars are standard tune untouched cars ?
If so this puts a new light on the thread and some more ideas in my mind of the problems seen here and reasons why.

P0100: Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit (Possibily affected by the result of EGR actuation ?)
P0234: Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition (As above)
P068A: ECM/PCM Power Relay De-Energized - Too Early (Unsure, possibily battets current related)
P0299: Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Underboost Condition (possibily a ghost code or still EGR related) as its seen on 3 standard un tuned cars that are all showing EGR faults.
P0404: Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit Range/Performance (Sounds lke EGR actuation speed)
P0606: Control Module Processor (unsure, possibily speed of module boot or faulty ecu.)

The other problem of course is that some fault codes can misslead or be even "ghost codes"that are irelivent really.

Blanking the EGR may be worth a try but this probably will not change any fault codes present, however it may help with the running of the car.

This is the reason why I "pushed" this thread. Thumbs Up

It's beautiful to start a "work team" for help Pete Thumbs Up to achieve the perfection on BAS remap map Mr. Green

We are all happy with BAS remap but we are MORE THAN HAPPY for the Pete aftersale support and service.

We must support Pete on his (great) job !!! Bow down

Yes i agree, its good to share knowlage.

Hopefully with the collective data we can work out some of the pumas quirks and weird faults, time dependant at my end lol.
I wonder if i should get some more EGR blanks cut for some group tests.

I forget the optimium hole size AndrewS found was best, may be i could get 6mm as a start and made of mild steel for ease of drilling.

Hi
In some cases the faults may still stay present and not mean anything, this is the same ov the TDV6 D3 when their EGR valves fail andare blanked which is common, luckley for the defender EGR failure does not cause a undrivable car like the D3 does.

The EGR on the defender actuates dependant on throttle possition rpm, speed and some other things, but as a rule after a gear change between 1750 & 2000 rpm its re closing from its open moment from when you changed gear with no throttle if that makes sence.

This is normally the worst point on the defender for lag or slow turbo spool up. of course their is many more things that can affect driveability but the puma does seem to suffer a lotfrom egr related problems amongst others like fuel rail sensors sticking etc etc.

As AndrewS showed, fault codes are some times present even in the standard cars ive seen it a lot, dont worry to much about it or read to deep into it if the car drives good. knowing a fault code in some cases can make a worry for a owner when its not needed.

In some cases a tune or remap does however enhance a undelined fault/glitch which is a pain in the back side lol

Pete

19mm Ų Chap Thumbs Up

Due to the design of the tube that carries the exhaust gasses from the manifold to the to the EGR (see below) With the honeycomb arrangement of the holes, there are limitations to the Ų of the trial hole size.
The centre hole is 7mmŲ the next circle of holes start at 11mm from the centre, so there is no difference in gas flow from a 7mmŲ to an 11mmŲ hole Thumbs Up Anything below 11mmŲ will induce an error.
I tried 12, 14, 16mmŲ holes and they all threw up errors. Opened it out to 19mmŲ and never had any more errors.
