Mid 2008 (mine missed out)
They were replaced in the main due to rattles in the cab but also cost etc. I have added my own LR bottle jack You can get a bottle jack if you have a 07/08 and it rattles. Mike |

Maybe I should have checked this, but what jack comes as standard with the Defender?

i've just replaced my piller jack for a LR bottle jack, much quicker to use and much safer, the only down side is getting on the floor to place it, i now also carry a piece of cheacker plate to stand it on.

Mine is also under the driver's seat, but it is written on the owner's manual that can be found in either place!

Going by your wheel saga I'm surprised you got one at all! Thought it may have been substituted with a blow up lilo and a footpump to raise it off the ground! Sorry Eutek couldn't resist! Our 09 Defender as one in the battery box. That will soon find a new home as we are putting twin batteries in tomorrow. The old pillar screw jack ain't worth having in my opinion.
The bottle jacks can be bought for about a tenner at shows. Just make sure you get a good one as they also have U/S ones mixed in with the good ones. A tip is to put a couple of washers over the rubber fill plug and tape them on. The plug can work loose and you loose the oil! Guess how I know? Brendan |
