dewalts have always given us good service, depending on what you're cutting, bigger more powerful machines are better.

I am starting to do all the skirting and architrave in the house and my old saw is not as accurate as it used to be. An 8" should be fine as I have the older saw for "coarser" and larger work.

We use the dewalts for fine mitres on kitchen cornice etc, as well as second fix skirts and door frames.
Their folding work stand is well worth buying too. If you have space, using one room as your 'workshop' look instead at a second hand radial arm saw, as it will do all a compound mitre saw will, are more accurate, plus will rip saw, rebate etc, but are not as portable. Keith |

Depends what you want it for, being a joiner I have a dewalt DW718 which will cut everything accurately and will cross cut 350x100 but weighs a ton and a small makita LS1040 for the smaller stuff both excellent in their own rights

Bosch any day. I'm a self employed joiner and wouldn't touch Dewalt at all. Have a look at Makita which are just as good as Bosch.

I've got a Screwfix 'cheapie'. Had it for three years. Can't fault it.

Dewalt, is good as they just brought out elu, who made very good saws, and copied it
But the best is the Festool, it is stunning, an amazing bit of kit. Andy |

Get the best joiner you can find to do the job. Spend the time that you save working on the Defender and drooling over his quality workmanship

In the end I got a great deal on the bosch and went for it. What a cracking piece of kit, I'd better stay making things now! Darren
