Not sure I can help on your first problem, sorry and welcome to the forum!
My 2.4 was clattering on tickover as yours did, springs went as you say - clutch replaced and everything is so much better. (Pretty expensive though- main dealer mine cost Ł800 inc labour but indie may be cheaper?) Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Thanks - I think I'll try an independent for the clutch!
I'be been baffled (literally as it happens!) about what was wrong with her, was it the blanked EGR or MAF throttle input or even dirty fuel, so literally 5 mins ago I thought I'd take it for a spin without the air filter and Eurika! problem solved off to LR for filters tomorrow! Thanks again for taking the time to respond - very kind of you regards Mike |

have you got a fault code reader? they're very handy and can at least localise the problem for you.
Pumas do seem to get very unhappy with a blocked/old fuel filter. one thing you can do it drain the filter of crap with the little screw plug on the bottom (plastic screw off bit) Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Welcome Yes, sounds like the clutch plate springs,,, Have a 2008 90 that i have just replaced the clutch on,,( its second one by the look of it !) rattle at tickover, then goes with the clutch depressed,, mine were the small springs in the hub that were the main culprit ! The clutch unit has been modified ?? at least 3 times now California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

If the air filters that bad its time for a full service me thinks, and may be a dash of injector cleaner, check the wiring to the maf sensor as you have been in that area.
