It's not necessarily a bad thing if you just want it. Wink

If you need it, then it means you are overloading your Defender, unless you drive uber bad gravel roads on an everyday basis for long periods of time.

When I drive my def in Offroad here in Morrocco on rock tracks I can fell it changing all along the day. We just carry what we need.
Why is it different to fit 2 OE shocks than 1 Koni raid?

Not an expert, but if heating is the problem then you should get N charged shoxs or those with remote reservoir (they are expensive though). OE shoxs have some N in them, but I believe Koni are better. Search Koni on this forum as chap in Au has fitted them.
My advice is that you get proper shoxs from a local representative is case they fail. By the way, do not get anything from llama4x4 as his customer service is c#ap. Puma 110" SW

Surely, but they are not available here. And if I need to change one I surely wait 6 or 8 weeks to get another one.

Personally I would go down the remote resevoir route. I was looking at twin shocks but by the time you have ordered the mounts, fitted them and painted the axle after you might have well just ordered two sets of remote resevoir shocks so you have a spare set.

Also remember if you are going twin shocks you should change all 4 if only one breaks which will cost an arm and a leg.

p.s. The Land Rover Snatch 2 and WMIK 2 both use remte resevoir shocks for desert driving- and they are normally loaded up to just short of 4 ton.

I don't think you could get a better reference than that Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
+ New Defender 110 First Edition

There is a lot of choice on the shock absorber market. I'm sure that a lot of them are good enought for what I need.

I've fitted Procomp ES9000 on my last 110 300tdi and on the track one of the bushes broke. The bolt was welded by water, rust, mud and/or salt, I cut it with the rod. I Ordered 2 in the UK and I wait them 5 weeks.
That's why I would like to fit OE shocks.

Apynala, I would suggest the Koni raid, rather than 2 OE, better suited for your needs Thumbs Up

I think you're right.

Thanks Glynnparry25 for your advise.

After looking to the Terrfirma twin shock mount, I think it's not good for lower bushes. The V mount couldn't be fitted to my def. So I've deceided to order good shocks.

Thanks
