Courtesy Light Switches On Rear Doors
Hi Guys,

I does anybody know how to fit Courtesy Light Switches to the middle and rear doors on an early defender?

I currently have the front ones factory fitted and have added a second light in the load area but was wandering if I can fit switches to my middle and rear doors so when loading and unloading in the dark is a bit easier.

Also does anybody know of any better switches as mine are like pin switches and often need a wiggle to work Rolling Eyes

Thank you in advance!

Dog

Seems like your switches are dirty or corroded. Take them out and clean the contacts and the screw hole

Will give them a clean Thumbs Up

So all I have to do is add the new switches and a earth wire from the switch up to the earth wire connected to the lamp?

I'm pretty sure that the switches are triggered by a small metal tab in the leading edge of each door. If yours has never had switches fitted then it would be worth checking if those tabs are there before making a start. Darren

It has the switches fitted to the front doors but not the middle or rear, though the tabs are present Thumbs Up

The rear door will need a tab making up though that should take all of 5 minutes.
