Following on from the social and laning trips we have organised and run over the past couple of years, James, Tim and I, with the help of Anthony, James or David, plan to offer a similar trip on the weekend of the 15-16th March 2014.
As usual we will make all the meal and accommodation bookings along with checking all the lanes in advance for suitability and maintenance in order to minimise any risk of vehicle damage. Both lead vehicles will be late model Puma 110s and our desire not to scratch or damage them is what makes our approach different to other operators. We will be looking to cover some of the best lanes that Mid Wales has to offer. Considering the time of the year we will be working on well surfaced lanes where technicality rather than ‘mud’ would make the lane challenging. We would expect to meet up on the Saturday afternoon at the Metropole Hotel (rooms available from 12pm on the Saturday, see http://www.metropole.co.uk/), a very nice Mid Wales Spa hotel where you can indulge in the facilities on offer before we all get together for a 3 course gourmet meal . If past years are anything to go by, after a couple of drinks all the stories will start to come out of who has done what and whose has been stuck where! Sunday, post breakfast, we meet in the car park for a photo shoot before taking to the Land Rovers for a full day of laning. The route will be carefully chosen to ensure the risk of vehicle damage is minimised, whilst remaining interesting for all and offering the opportunity to boost the confidence of those who might be daunted by the prospect of taking their pride and joy off the beaten track. If anyone needs help with tackling something there will be experience persons available in each group who will be able to talk you through. Proposed date is weekend of 15th-16th March 2014 The final cost of the trip is to be confirmed, I will emphasise that this trip is being run on a "not-for-profit" basis. While some of our costs incurred in organising the trip may be partially covered it needs to be stressed that the organising team will also be contributing financially to the trip. We are hoping to price the weekend similar to previous years at around £215 per vehicle, based on 2 persons sharing a room (twin or double, all en suite). The price includes 3 course gourmet dinner, full breakfast, use of the Hotel facilities (other than massages!) pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi and full multigym (available all Saturday afternoon & evening), plus a full days guided laning (we generally run from 0900 until 1800/1830hrs) . Places will be limited to 8 cars so that we can run 2 groups of 5 vehicles on the Sunday. If you are interested in joining us then please contact me or James (JST) via PM with an Email address and we will send more details. Please note if you wish to take a dog there is an additional £10 hotel charge for their cleaning bill (!!!!) Places will be allocated on first come first served basis. You will need to provide your own lunch for Sunday. Last edited by Mountain_man on 7th Dec 2016 1:26pm. Edited 2 times in total |

I can't send PM due to being a new member but I'm a long term member of Freel2 and Disco3 forums. I would be interested; can you email me at all?
