Folk will still remove them and certain MOT stations will still pass them Evil or Very Mad. Does this mean that reputable tuning companies will stop offering the physical and electronic removal of the DPF? Probably not.

Some of the early 2.2 engined Defenders will be coming up for their first MOT soon,if not already. It will be interesting to see what happens with those vehicles that are minus the DPF.

I think the earliest 2.2's date from around November 2011, so they won't be due an MOT until late '14. Darren

Or remove said dpf or cat, fabricate look a like unit with straight thru pipe refit and who would know.
As for dpf regen cycle if internal pressures are with ecu parameters the ecu will either assume soot level ok or natural regen taken place as on high speed run for example.
The joys of technology wait till we have to plug the car in on mot to check ecu parameters, that will be fun....

Interesting topic especially to me for obvious reasons Cool

We are probably the only people who as of yet have looked into and done DPF removal for the 2.2. The first was for a genuine problem on sme theme park trains of which we speed limited to 40kmh. This caused DPF issues as the speeds did not allow a regeneration and so this process needed deleting and exhaust modified. A real and genuine need of which lead me to produce something a little easer to install.

This company has many done already with great success and reliability Smile http://www.deltrain.com not sure of their legality needs and legislation needs as a theme park ride, though I do know they went through some re registration process after modification to allow it to be articulated and tow many trailers as a train no problem.

I'm already working on the front pipe for the 2.2 DPF removal of which the prototype should be finished this week, if all goes to plan removal and replacement should take no more than one hour and coupled with our soon ready MPF interface the software in the ecu can also be changed back and forth in mins.

Of course legally I will only be selling FULL DPF removal hardware for non road use and competition use Whistle

I'll post up some pics of the new prototype as soon as I've finished it, I'm also working on a race DPF/cat option that will remain legal Mr. Green

Hopefully so,etching similar to this in the form of a cat and possibly DPF combined with all needed marks and stamps on will keep things legal where needed at the mot stations.
