Being thick, what do you mean by (for example) "60% protection"?
Is that 60% of vehicles stolen didn't have one reported fitted? |

As in 60% of defenders fitted with diskloks live to fight another day .
For me I would like disklok to bring out a defender modded version , I would buy it . And I'm sure they would have a huge group buy from defender2 Stephen (disklok) are you reading |

Would be bloody good if it also addressed all the "alleged" weak points like the hinge etc... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

+1 for Defender specific Disklok!
I've got a large size one (as recommended). Great bit of kit but, well, feels just a bit too loose to me, reckon it could be crow -barred off by someone serious enough to give it a go... 1959 Series 2 Ragtop 1989 SWB Stationwagon 1998 300Tdi Hard Top and 2012 2.2 Puma Hardtop (at work) 2011 Puma 90 2.4 XS |

Defender specific ? - how's that gonna work then with the variety of steering wheel sizes that people fit. Even if they did remotely consider creating something, I'd imagine the retail cost of it would be prohibitive (limited production runs, modifications to tooling etc etc).
The stock Defender steering wheel seems to fall somewhere in between the medium and large disklok sizes. Some seem to manage with a medium and others (like myself) go for the large one. If you have a concern (which I admit I did) over the 'looseness' of the large one, you could always pack out the inside... I stuck in some old rubber footwell mat strips. Did the job nicely. Took up the slack but not too tight so that it can act as a lever to help in busting the steering lock. Maybe, as a standard mod to the existing diskloks, they could include some packing material in the boxes, to allow people to take up the slack (thinking a bit like the concept off the cycle helmets always come with a few extra velcro pads to accomodate different head sizes) I'm not going to blow sunshine up Diskloks backside as we all know that they can be beaten given enough time, just like pretty much anything you choose to fit. They are one serious visual deterrent though and used in conjunction with other mechanical/electrical layers you'll significantly improve the chances of hanging on to your pride and joy... As everyone says though.... If they want it, they WILL get it... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Well it has been a week and not a peep. Even the police officer in charge of the case is on holiday until Friday!!
Thank you for all the messages. VIN/Chassis/Frame SALLDHMP7CA414192 Engine Number 110603022211DT224 Disklok Think was an expensive waste of time, alot of talk about it easily being peeled off. My be a deterrent to a passer by but just an inconvenience to a thief. Disklok state there is no evidence of it being removed but then how could it been driven and steered especially with the arm sticking out surely it does not turn pass the windscreen or drivers legs? Plus think the car was driven through wall to avoid passing the house. Looking at the sharp turns the vehicle did in the neighbours field would also confirm to me that the disklok was removed. |

I assume this was a standard steering wheel .
As per party monkey mods . Maybe worth those who have a standard wheel and large disklok . To either swap the wheel or pack it out. Or weld a couple of metal strips. This is also not just a defender issue . They are flipped on vw , Audi , ford, subis , if your bored check their forums Even though disklok say its not flipped . It obviously is . They as most small companies refuse to accept its a flaw. Or as sorry sir never heard of that before What is quite interesting the guy who manufactures the pedal lock is always trying to improve the product . Accepting feedback and sending out modified pre-production units for test. Don't get me wrong its better than a host of other steering locks , crook locks etc . But it could be sooo much better |

What really sucks is that neither X-Eng's pedal lock or gear lock will fit on an aircon Puma Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Great minds...
I've had the barrel lock fitted for some time now and always park on full-lock in dodgy areas. Also can't wait for May, when I can fit the X-Brake Any recommendations for pedal locks then? Have a great weekend "y'all" Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
