EGR removal on mapped td5

Ok, I've had a search but can't find any info on the effect.

Basically, I think my TD5 has been remapped before I got it. Most places I've had it serviced or work done say it runs and drives like a JE Engineering remapped truck. I've no idea how to find out what has actually been done.

I've noticed that the EGR still seems to be present, so I'm considering fitting a removal kit.

How would this effect it, if the original remap was with it in place? I don't want to remove it and cause issues!

You'll have to try it and see. Prior to my current map I had an Autologic one that was fine. After several modifications later the vehicle would overboost in certain circumstances.
Without knowing which one you've got and contacting the originator as mentioned you'll have to suck it and see. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Get rid of the EGR, one of the cheapest mods you can do to improve your TD5

Agree with Eddie, that and a decat pipe make them totally different to drive!

Those are exactly the modifications that 'threw' my map out of tolerances and caused overboosting. Spoke to the forum bespoke tuners and ended up with something that was more than capable to take these modifications into account.

It was already decated with straight through exhaust ..... You got to love the sound.

Not sure what air box mod is, I'll have a search.
