Have you had a look at the CSK one? That is the one I will be looking at getting (when funds allow). They look like they can be supplied powder coated and are cheaper (just under £100 if my memory is correct). 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

The First Four guard is a lot more heavy duty than the one in the first link.

Choose your steering guard by the spec rather than the colour. You can always paint it afterwards Thumbs Up Darren

I got this one and had it powder coated black for £30. I don't like the guards with writing on them and in black this is quite subtle. Each to their own of course Thumbs Up

Choosing on specification rather then colour or looks applies to a lot more items then steering guards.

Points to consider include

Material of blade steel or aluminium?

Thickness of material?

If steel is it hot dipped galvanised?

Any paint or powder coated is likely to be damaged and if it is steel will then rust and delaminate the finish.

Thickness and design of the brackets?

Are recovery eyes built into the brackets?

Price varies tremendously.

LRS has one listed at £66 here including VAT

Safari Equip one is £96 including VAT

No matter which guard I get it will end up black, just thought that was a good price already done! Any advice much appreciated as it will get hit and have to be redone on a regular basis. The truck is worked hard but it's still got to look good

Scrapes and scratches might look quite good on the black Whistle The 'worked hard' evidence Very Happy

I have a genuine Mantec steering guard for sale. I had it painted in a high quality very tough satin black as I didn't like the silver look.

£80 plus postage if you are interested.

The paint is in good condition - there is water on it in the photo, not paint damage.
