No holes in the bottom of my battery box (1999 td5). 1999 Defender TD5 110

ive got holes in bottom of mine, 300tdi, but td5 seat & bat box. simple enough to either fit a grommet My 109 thread

Some people find holes others dont. Its a defender quirk. After off roading I have mud come up under the cubby box and through the front bottom corners of the doors.
Bung your holes with some rubber grommets from halfords or such like. Measure the hokes first dont guess trust me youll guess wrong lol. Then jobs a gooden |

Thanks, I'll measure them tomorrow at work then pop to halfords. Just wasn't sure if they were meant to be there or not.

My (Td5) seat base had holes in it which lined up perfectly with the factory twin battery mount.
Also there's usually a load of slots for the battery clamp to attach to. |

I've got these on a '02 TD5 - are they anything to do with ventilation (e.g. for hydrogen from the battery)?
