Hi peeps, I'm new around here and new to Defender after owning a modified Discovery2 td5 for over 2 years.
been wanting a defender for ages but wanted an older one as rolling a project! so here it is my defender. underneath is landy porn!! full galvanised chassis and x members fully poly bushed and HD springs and shocks all round. other galved bits include tub cappings end cappings and tree sliders. could do with a good paint of the axles and a steam clean but otherwise nothing needs doing under there at the moment. its got a 2006 td5 bulkhead and dash (not instruments) which has been pumped full of waxoyl.2 recent front doors that are rust free, rear load door replaced and rust free too. the 2 back doors are rusty and will need sorting. its had a recon'd gearbox, transfer box new clutch and HD fork, 20k ago. body work & interior are generally crappy, as expected for a 19 year old landy, but all stuff i will get round to doing as money allows. Sorry meant black modulars as you said above , will probs change mine for black modulars and AT/MT tyres when my tyres get too low.
Really like your 110, just looked at the pics on my laptop and looks better- you must be really pleased. Galv will last forever too! Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Nice, I like the ‘retro Utility Station Wagon’ look! It’s what I’m going for on my build, but like others have said the galv cappings are something of a ‘marmite’ issue – visually anyway! I’ve got a set to go on mine but can’t decide whether to paint them or not.
As for the interior, plenty of threads on here as I’m sure you’ve seen. Soundproofing seems to be particularly in vogue at the moment, for good reason too. Keep the pictures coming, always good to see the older trucks on here! Matt Real trucks don't have spark plugs |

Quick mock up of how first changes might look.was gonna fit modulars but it seems these freestyle wheels aren't really selling so might just paint them.
