Are these the right interior LED bulbs?
Looking to get a pair as direct replacements for the OEM bulbs.

Are these any good? Anything better?

In theory yes, but some people have had problems with them not being quite long enough. I just bought last night another from ebay. If you search interior light one of the options shows a picture of the defender light with a blue glow. Those definitely fit, but don't buy the whole unit which the same company also sells for some reason for umpteen quid - the bulb itself is cheaper 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

I'll take a look at the other bulbs and look for the one with the blue glow.

Is it really that 'Blue' in your cab? I'm looking for something i can leave on for ages whilst camping and want it to be much brighter but i'm not sure about the blue colour.

Is it OK?

Ou can make slightly small bulbs fit by adjusting the contacts but there is a limit as to where you'll have no chance of fitting.
SMD LED's are what you want regular LED are rubbish No Guts, No Glory.

SMD LEDs?

Do you have a link to some. Not heard of them. SMD 'type' or manufacturer?

That's what I bought. Sorry, I was replying at work earlier, and unable to find the link.

The glow is not blue, I just used that as a comparison description against the traditional yellow filament glow. It actually comes out pretty white.

Not the cheapest LED, but I liked the one I bought several months ago, and now want another light a bit further back, so just bought another one! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

What is SMD LED? What are the benefits?

All of the ones in this link are SMD's:

What he said above. Thumbs Up SMD type are one photos here which are square looking chips, it's the dome types that aren't any good which are the regular typed. No Guts, No Glory.

What does everyone reckon to the light output on the 36 SMD LED light panel compared to a Festoon with 6 (?) SMD LEDs on? Is it worth the upgrade? An engine to TDi for!

There are different types such as 5050, bigger is probably better if you want regular white. No Guts, No Glory.
