Stick one of those fancy usb points in there instead, much more practical.

I think the MUD ones fit into the same hole? They look a lot better, usually have a rubber cap to protect it, and don't have that annoying green ring around them.
Or get a USB one, as said above, twin USB charger, so you get twice the charging ability, in just one gap! I have in total 9 sockets dotted around the vehicle, 3 MUD ones, and the twin USB also sold by MUD 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

How do you mean "the wrong size"?
I thought all lighter sockets were identical. |

I thought all lighter sockets were identical. I guess that all depends on who cut the holes... |

I suppose there is a difference between a cigar lighter(to account for a full corona) and a ciggarette one(your common B&H thin things)
The original hole may have been enlarged to take another gadget by the previous owner. |

Cheers guys
I've already got USB charging in the stereo head unit but I like the irony of charging an e-cigarette from a USB charging in the cigarette lighter socket When I did cigar lighter I meant cigarette/cigar/standard as thought that's what manufacturers called it. I bought one off eBay and I just wanted to swap the push in element but so as not to have to swap the 'femail' bit prise out of the dash. The one that arrived was too big for the existing hole. Order another, same problem. |

I thought you just meant the 'plug in' bit not the whole thing. |
