Neg terminal
What are people doing with the new battery clamps when they try to attach accessories to the clamp?

Must admit that I have never seen terminals like these before, and why is the cable sooooooooo short?

I have thought about just changing the end, but this will make a short cable even shorter, or cutting the cable where it attaches to the chassis beside the transfer box, and then running new cable from terminal to chassis joint, but feels wrong add a junction to the system.

Any input welcome

Andy

(Asked this question here as other battery talk is happening although electrics not electronics, but feel free to move if required.)

Also am I correct in thinking that if I back power the live system, (via purple wire in the rear area), that it's only the small red wire one the live battery terminal will remain live once they are separated from each other and the battery?

Andy.

That would make sense, as I'd imagine the big red cable would go to the starter and/or alternator.

Although you'd have to check to be sure.

Are you thinking of back feeding it so you don't lose stereo memory or alarm function?

Thanks Ken, when you say made new one, do you mean cable, and joined it, or connection/terminal on original cable?

Yes Jamie don't won't to cause alarm problems, loose stereo settings, may want to keep it locked and alarmed overnight with out battery in place as want to seal all the holes in the battery box, might even Dynamat in there.
