Twice in as many days I get to use the following image....
With the phenominal mileage people like noworries4x4 have covered in their vehicles this would have been an issue we would have known about. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

EGR is more likely to be the issue. No Guts, No Glory.

How can it be a road legal Tdci ? I thought the Puma 90 only came, legally, as a 4 seater? LANDYWATCH

I think that's academic as the pictures show no seats in the rear at all Basically, the advert is rubbish. Darren

As above !! Both my Puma engine failures have been through oil pump / oil pressure issues, the 2.4 went bang on the A303 early one morning when the pressure relief valve stuck / failed pumped the head turbo ect full of oil result big bang and lots and lots of smoke fire ect.
The second 2.2 Puma as every one knows died in France this year oil light just came on at 100km/h oil pump drive sheared simple as that, then the recovery people kept driving it to move it from truck to truck in the yard ect and was knackered when stripped out. I have had turbos numerous egr valves ect on the 2.4 heat shields and manifolds on both but never injectors or high pressure pumps except for an oil seal leak. The only fuel related item I have had under warranty was a high pressure gallery the metal cracked one end fuel everywhere. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough. FFS...Not the old Decat debate again please!
There is NO rough ground at all. Ignition sparked engines only NOT diesels post 2012. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic10363.html?highlight=sparked If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Dont think its unheard of for the injectors to kill the tdci in the Transit, mostly 2.2s with Densos i think ?

I'm fairly confident it was the dodgy injector that killed my 2.2.

Delphi injectors in transit were proper ****. and heard of cracked pistons because of dodgy injectors .
but Bosch injectors are much better ok we had a few Bosch ones play up but can't think of any causing damage. . think it was on that post I asked if he had any running problems before the knocking started and he had . so really if running problem sorted first may not had any other damage just replace injectors |

we had a rep in from Delphi and he was saying the new injectors were going to give trouble because the old euro 4 injectors had something like 8 holes to give spray pattern and new euro 5 needed something like 20 holes to give extra fine spray pattern for euro 5 emissions
so if the holes are that much smaller they are going to block easier and give bad patterns |
