I see we're taking a slightly different approach with your wording but you're still not too happy living with the views of some, perhaps some of us on here?

I assume I am entitled to an opinion and don't have to agree with people on this forum? Rolling Eyes

When your doing your 'investigations' I assume you have seen that opinion is mixed to say the least? In fact I'd say the detractors are in the minority!

Its not so much I'm not happy more I don't really agree with some opinions! I think I've been quite respectful though have I not? I'm happy for everyone to have a view.

Have you read the comments from the horse riding lady on the video itself? I was particularly pleased she commented like she did! It does make me think again about the bad press this video received on this forum. I wonder more about its legitimacy! But I am not experienced with horses so happy to take your word on some things, until completely different opinions surface!

All very interesting though! Thumbs Up Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.

You might be right but I can categorically say that the anti 4x4 groups in the Peaks really did start and fuel that fire. GLASS and various other groups have tried to start dialogue with them but they don't want any kind of compromise. They want us all banned full stop. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire!

Taking the moral high ground in this case will just result in no lanes in the Peaks.

Do you not think it's actually irresponsible 4x4 owners who have started or added the most "fuel to that fire"?

I really don't think taking the "moral low ground" is going to keep Green lanes open either. If you want to increase support for green laning your going to have to be honest and open and not act like 5 year old kids in the playground calling each other names. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

I don't accurately no the answer to that really. I know from my experience we do the right thing to the best of our ability whenever we are out. I know we are treated badly in the Peaks!

Not sure I've seen any name calling, in this thread! Is this video not honest and open then? Have I used camera trickery or is it simply my wording only that's got a few peoples goat?

That's a question to expand this discussion though. Why is it that it appears to be exclusively the Peak District where 4x4 owners are so badly thought of?

I don't ever have issues elsewhere and as you can see I lane in a lot of places. Are all the irresponsible 4x4 owners centred around the Peaks. Are the Peaks that good that it attracts the cowboys? Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.

Too many people not enough space. The peaks is surrounded by large conurbations that empty into it at every opportunity. Everyone is focussed on enjoying their pursuit and woe betide anyone that gets in the way! Put too many people into any space and it happens.... 4x4s are an easy visible target in this case....but the underlying problem is the space and the number of people. If 4x4s were banned then another user group would take the place and be the whipping boy!

I live in the Peaks and suffer from the continuing closure of lanes as a direct result of the Peak District National Parks obvious bias to anything but walkers.

The "Friends of the Peak Distict" have paid an enormous sum of money to have some overhead power cables to a a farm near us buried in the ground. They have dug up miles of the local countryside just to improve their view while out walking..! These organisations have huge resources and a massive agenda to secure my Peak District just for their personal pleasure. Most of these people don't even live in the Peak District. Our local village is blocked by so many cars at the weekend as the walkers come to trample on our local lanes/roads.

As Ellebarto has tried to say, the Peaks are under attack in a way that other more enlightened counties don't even consider.

I know that wasn't the point of the video, but the resulting discussions just goes to show how much of a fight we have on our hands with the Peak District National Park...horse riders are not the problem.

Cheers

Simon

If you didn't like me making a film of horse riders in the Peaks, you definitely shouldn't watch this one!!

I was working on another spoof Land Rover film yesterday and while we were out messing around a couple of lads did some add libbing with a prop we had lying around, more to take the micky out of the hard time you lot gave me about it.

It made me giggle anyway!

WARNING – If you didn't like the last horse focused film I made you will hate this one. Please don’t watch!
